My Cable Company Has Both The 4000 And The Xl

I discovered that my cable company has some digital channels, including two Weather Channel digital channels. Their regular definition and one of their digital Weather Channel versions has the Weatherstar 4000. The other digital channel has the Weatherstar XL. So now I can choose between two STARs when it's time for the local forecast. Is that cool or what?!

You must be the one who had the Bel Air, MD Comcast feed of TWC. I thought it was 4000 and IS? Since when did Comcast downgrade your IS to a XL?

That is cool. I wouldn't mind having different STARs to choose.

We never had an Intellistar. I do live near Bel Air, but the XL is really for Fawn Grove, Pennsylvania, which is just across the Mason-Dixon line. The 4000 is for Bel Air. Both STARs are operated by Armstrong, which is my cable company. They have two buildings, one in Bel Air and the other in Fawn Grove, which explains why I have both the 4000 and the XL.

That's cool that you have two legacy WeatherStars to choose from! Unfortunately, I don't have any legacy WeatherStars in the Green Bay area on Time Warner Cable, but I have three Weather Channel feeds, the basic cable feed (channel 28), the digital cable feed (channel 887), and the HD feed with satellite Local on the 8s (channel 1370). I also read that in Central Minnesota you can watch the Weather Channel over-the-air in two locations, with a low-power antenna signal, on channel 50 in Alexandria, and channel 34 in Willmar.

Yeah, I was planning to record the XL with my digital camera and at the same time record the 4000 on DVD. I don't know how to put videos from recordable DVDs on my computer, so I may have to re-record the 4000 clip with my camera afterward.

There are programs on the internet to where you can rip them. :)
