Hello, STAR Team. It has been a while since there was any issue that needed to be resolved with my local STAR, but suddenly there has been a change to the regional current conditions and forecast map. I see it had to have been done while Westchester County had numerous power outages from last Saturday's nor'easter.

I see that my regional forecast map has been shifted north again from the time when we first had localized weather conditions and forecasts introduced to local STARs. I believe this was during the HiRAD was first introduced.

New York City's Central Park has been eliminated from the map completely as a result and Middletown, New York and this ski resort called Thunder Ridge was added. Danbury, Connecticut had been moved farther south and away from its more accurate location on the map.

Is the reason for this change due the coverage area of my STAR having changed? Maybe a merging of my STAR with one north of me? Now when I had made the suggestion to include Central Park on the map and have it more centered with Westchester County is that I'm in the southern half of the county. Middletown is at least 40 miles away. Thunder Ridge (I believe it's a ski resort in Patterson, New York) I'm checking with relatives that live in Cortlandt Manor, New York (on the north end of Westchester County) to see if they have a different STAR. I remember their current conditions site had been Peekskill.

With the newly shifted map, I'm now on the south end of this map. I suggested Central Park to be on our STAR's regional maps because it is the main destination for Westchester County commuters who would want weather conditions and forecasts for New York City. Having Middletown and Thunder Ridge primarily helps those on the north side of Westchester County, not so much us in the southern half.

I don't see any other changes to my STAR. If there was a mistake in the shifting of the regional map, would the previous map with Central Park be restored?

Thank you for any help in answering any questions that I have.

Oh, I almost forgot. If there was to be any tweaking with the 8 observations list, could you check on Mount Vernon and New Rochelle? Both are always giving the same weather observations.
