Please leave all suggestions, complaints, rants, English lessons, wishes from grandma, and the like here about things dealing with Names, Abbrevs. Spaces -Dashes- /Slashes/ and such....
Remember that I (we) control what shows ...ha ha ha...it's good to be Intellistar King!... we try to make the most pleasing Local show possible to the viewers.
A FEW OF MY THOUGHTS ON THE SUBJECT:
1. I am not an English major, I have a degree in meteorology for gosh sake. If we have the incorrect abbr. just tell us and we'll correct. I know a have used the wrong abbr. of airport in some locations, let me know if you see it. Misspelling? Tell us quick.
2. Over the years and many different people typing, we have several different uses of dashes and slashes and spaces.
3. Personally I like the DASH between city locations when they are close together or meant to combine and make an area, and of course some places are hyphenated. (St. Charles-Waldorf) (Hartsfield-Jackson Airport)
4. In a few locations when the whole county is served by cable system but there is only one real large city, I will put the city name followed by a space then a SLASH with the county name. I put the space in to denote that it is not just a dash or a slash used as a dash (see number 3 above). This gives the people in the big city the most attention but also allows the folks in the tiny outlying locations to feel loved or included. If you don't like that.....tough. (Marietta /Cobb County)
5. I am open to all suggestions, no matter how mind numbing they may seem to me...just kidding. If you have some reasoning behind it, I may implement it.
6. In most naming cases, there is no exactly right or wrong.
