Issues With Modifying A Post

Why is it that about 95% of the time I have to go into the full editor to edit a post? Whenever I try to edit a post in the quick editor, it clears the text and tells me I need to enter a post. Is there something wrong?

I suspect it's an issue with HTML coding. I always just type alt-s after typing a post, and that doesn't seem to work on the quick editor. It's supposed to though.
