I watched both ("Icebox Of The Nation" + "Life On The Bayou"). Each yielded local facts & ways of life unique to the area featured which made them interesting to watch. The shows are somewhat reminiscent of Atmospheres minus the co-host, not a bad thing though. Having once spent two weeks in Superior National Forest I found the International Falls episode to be especially entertaining: the fact there are NO falls in International Falls, the frozen turkey bowling and the Polar Plunge into a frozen lake hole carved out with a chainsaw :cold:. The IF vs. Embarress, MN icebox "contest" has always been more or less well known with the exception that IF has an official reporting site. In Life On The Bayou I didn't know Zydeco is a style of music in the Cajun south. Also that low pressure from hurricanes and the associated debris can cause fish kills by robbing the water of oxygen. I like that special effects aren't overused in this series (as are seen on other programs such as Full Force Nature). One minor complaint is the local forecast pops in before the final segment of the 2nd episode when the show ends at the top of the hour.

I have yet to see the "Life On The Bayou" episode. I want to see it since I am in Louisiana.
